Surrounded by friends and family, the Ramsays mostly spend their summers at their summerhouse at the Isle of Skye. One year the family plans to go to the island s lighthouse but the visit does not happen. Time changes and so does their world. Mrs Ramsay dies. Two out of eight children also die.
